Our first awareness event was done at The Wonder Years, in Wilmington, MA., and called Angel’s Install, in honor of Angel Duenas of Maryland. The state of Maryland incorporated a cordless law in child care facilities because of this little boy. We removed 25 corded mini blinds and replaced them with child safe cordless cellular shades. This became the first OPF and special thanks to Jimmy Garrity, Rick and Sean Carlan, Sandra Curtin, and of course, Angel.
Neighborhood Center Collaboration, NY
A very successful collaboration where over 30 cordless Hunter Douglas Literise child safe window blinds made this facility safer and it’s participants able to make informed decisions about their window coverings at home.
Special Thanks to Sandra Soroka, Executive Director at the The Neighborhood Center, her staff, Hunter Douglas and Joe Jankoski, Cathe Bullwinkle of the Oneida New York County Health Department, The Fabric Mill, a Hunter Douglas Gallery dealer, and installers: Mike Marthaler, James Garrity, and Rick Carlan.
Danvers MA – Retro-Fit!
This awareness event took place at a child care facility in Danvers, MA. We were able to shorten the lengthy cords, unravel any knots and install cord cleats (or tie downs) to help keep the cords out of reach. Take a look at how this is done!
Thank you to The Learning Experience, Julie and Joseph Sinopoli of Distinctive Window Coverings in North Andover, MA, and the ABC team of Chantal Teraberry, Rick Carlan, Mike Marthaler, Matthew Olga, Donna Clover, and Sean Carlan.
