Once a year, in October (Window Covering safety month), The ABCs Foundation chooses a childcare facility somewhere in the United States that meets the criteria of receiving brand new cordless or child safe window coverings throughout the facility. The foundation names this collaboration “Operation Pink Fox”.
The event is attended by children of the facility and their parents, daycare workers, the community, and guest speakers. Window covering experts also hold a tutorial for parents on how to make existing blinds safer for their children at home. A public speaker, usually from the Health Care department, talks on the importance of child safety when it comes to window blind cords and the importance of going “Cordless for Kids”. Everyone’s time is 100% donated and even the new window blinds themselves are donated by a major manufacturer or purchased with ABCs donations.
